An Islip resident since 1972, I have participated in local groups in book discussions, crocheting, sewing and sailing. To change things up I rode my own motorcycle around the USA twice with other women nicknamed "OldBagsonBikes.com".
Throughout the years, I always carried a camera along with me to capture memories with my children and family and freeze time. My first 35mm was a Kodak Retina S2, purchased in the late 60's in the Navy Exchange on base in Argentia, Newfoundland, where my husband was stationed. Around 1976, a Pentax K100 broadened the 35mm experience. Required for a photography course at the local community college, I purchased a digital Nikon which increased my interest exponentially; I could be more selective in photos I printed. Since then I have added two other Nikons and multiple lenses to my collection.
As a retiree, I discovered several photography groups online. Through them, I met other photographers at nature centers and other locations on LI and became interested in photographing birds, sunrises and sunsets and landscapes. I now enjoy exploring Long Island, taking photos at my leisure. Friends and acquaintances have asked me to share my captures with them. This led me to LongIslandPhotoGallery.com, ironically, is the town in which I reside.
